Describe the organization and what you do, especially board involvement, committees you chair, annual commitment in terms of hours or dollars.

  • Children’s Cancer Network raises funds to support children and families throughout their cancer journey with programs and services designed to provide financial assistance, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, and create an awareness of issues they face related to childhood cancer.
  • Time Commitment: Julie, Amber and Melinda each are committee members for the Run to Fight Children’s Cancer annual 5K/10K race. All those involved meet monthly to discuss the logistics of the run, scheduling, and fundraising efforts. In addition, Melinda has donated additional time on the day of the race to arrive early and aid in day-of set up. Additionally, each year Pono has a team of runners/walkers participate in the event.
  • Pono has donated as the grand presenting sponsor for the last 11 years.
  • Commitment in hours from all Pono employees together is roughly 80 hours
  • a.      Annual Run to Fight Children’s Cancer
  • b.      Any other major events related to this organization you lead/chair/participate in – We participate in the annual fashion show, which also raises money for the organization.
